Sagebrush is an original cyanotype on archival watercolor paper. These grasses grow in my Colorado high alpine garden. I love them for their dynamic, flowing movement in the breeze, reflecting the dancing light, and their value in providing food and habitat for wildlife.
Cyanotypes are one of photography's oldest printing processes. Its prints' distinctive feature is its cyan blue shade, which results from its exposure to ultraviolet light. I used plants from my garden to block the UV rays and create unique, botanical silhouettes.
