Ornamental Grass Two is an original cyanotype on archival watercolor paper. These grasses grow in my Colorado high alpine garden. I love their dynamic, flowing movement in the breeze, reflecting the dancing light, as well as their value in providing food and habitat for wildlife.
Cyanotypes are one of photography’s oldest printing processes. The distinctive feature of its prints is its shade of cyan blue, which results from its exposure to ultraviolet light. I used plants from my garden to block the UV rays and create unique, botanical silhouettes.
